This year, the company union continues to enhance the ideological improvement of employees based on last year, ensuring that all members further understand, familiarize themselves with, integrate into, and love the union. In a short period, members have become familiar with their obligations. This is also an important year for our new organization and new members to break through new ideas and concepts in the new era. Through the efforts of all members over the past few years, our union work has developed from nothing to something, from being unpresentable to now being able to be put on the table. Currently, it is recognized and supported by everyone, and they love it even more. Regarding this point, we feel gratified. Over the past six months, attendance has been full, and there have been very few job changes or dismissals in the past year. However, due to increased production tasks, a few comrades have joined. The union's Organizational Chart and personnel allocation have not changed much. Below is a brief report on the union's work this year:
This year, building on the foundation of last year, the company's labor union continued to focus on improving employees' ideological awareness and ensuring the implementation of these ideas. We aimed to help all members further understand, familiarize themselves with, integrate into, and develop a love for the labor union. In a short period, members became familiar with their obligations, marking an important year for our new organization and members to break through new ideas, concepts, and adapt to the new era. Through the efforts of all members over the past few years, our labor union work has grown from nothing to something presentable, and now it can be openly discussed. Currently, it is recognized, supported, and well-loved by everyone, which is a source of satisfaction. Over the past six months, full attendance has been maintained, and there have been very few cases of job-hopping or dismissals. However, due to increased production tasks, a few new colleagues have joined. The labor union's organizational structure and personnel allocation have remained largely unchanged. Below is a brief report on this year's labor union work:
Continued Safety Inspections and Training: We adhered to conducting quarterly safety inspections, with records of inspections and photos of rectifications. Employees received quarterly safety knowledge training through activities such as watching videos, quiz competitions with prizes (prizes worth 300 yuan), and other initiatives to promote safety awareness and ensure safety remains a top priority. Monthly summary meetings included safety summaries and education. Employees signed safety responsibility agreements and safety protocols. The company established a safety fund, with annual safety awards for teams and year-end bonuses for employees. We strengthened the prevention of occupational hazards, conducted health check-ups, and ensured the distribution, supervision, and use of labor protection equipment. This reinforced the principle of "prevention first, combined with control" in work safety. Members who contributed to technological innovation or energy savings were rewarded, and those who obtained professional certifications received subsidies ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 yuan. Suggestion boxes were set up in workshops, and attendance records were maintained in the office building. Due to limited company space, the office was updated, and a small employee activity room was established. Throughout the year, we published five bulletin board issues, held employee photo exhibitions, publicized factory affairs, and conducted safety education and occupational hazard awareness campaigns. In September, we organized emergency accident and fire drills, with full participation and high enthusiasm, achieving excellent results. The submitted materials were recognized and praised by environmental and safety supervision departments.
2. Employee Welfare Initiatives
This year, the labor union distributed holiday benefits to employees: during the Dragon Boat Festival, zongzi (sticky rice dumplings) and salted duck eggs (totaling 7,150 yuan) were given out; during the Mid-Autumn Festival, mooncakes with salted egg yolks, apples, and pears (totaling 6,900 yuan) were provided; and during the Spring Festival, COFCO gift packages (totaling 14,960 yuan) were distributed. Drawing from last year’s experience in summer heat prevention, watermelons were distributed four times a week, purchased by designated personnel to ensure quality and freshness, allowing employees to enjoy them with peace of mind (costing 2,800 yuan). Mineral water was also provided in duty rooms (costing 1,200 yuan). On International Women’s Day, a symposium was held, and consolation funds (1,450 yuan) were distributed, with a half-day holiday granted.
Before the 2017 Spring Festival, a New Year’s gathering and an award ceremony for outstanding employees of 2016 were held. A large number of excellent employees were rewarded, and a variety of activities were organized, including garden riddle guessing, red envelope grabs, and a series of lucky draws. Outstanding employees, team leaders, and managers were awarded a total of 26,000 yuan, while safety teams received honorary certificates and safety bonuses (32,800 yuan). A company banquet was also held (costing 17,000 yuan). In March, the company organized a one-day trip to Pear Blossom Creek for all members, allowing everyone to relax amidst their busy work schedules, hike, enjoy tea, share meals, and chat about daily life (total cost: 2,200 yuan).
3. Awards and Recognition
In April, the lathe team in the anchor workshop won the "Ankang Cup" Work Safety Competition Excellence Award in Chengdu. The labor union awarded the team a collective cash prize of 400 yuan. During the May Day Labor Day celebration, six model workers were elected and presented with Nice laundry detergent gift packs and honorary certificates (costing 1,828 yuan). In October, two employees participated in the Chengdu Million Workers Skills Competition. Although they did not win any awards due to heavy workshop tasks and limited participation, they received praise from the General Labor Union. The labor union provided a subsidy of 300 yuan to each participant.
This year, one labor union bulletin was compiled, and eight study and observation sessions were organized. Eleven materials were submitted, and wage negotiations were conducted with meetings and photos documented. The labor union received three visits. In the Xinjin "Good Worker" selection campaign, company employee Xin Qiang ranked 14th in the county-wide WeChat voting activity. Although he did not win the title, it was a great promotional opportunity. He was praised and encouraged during the monthly meeting, emphasizing the value of participation and experience. The factory affairs disclosure passed the acceptance check, making the company a compliant unit. In June 2017, the labor union received an 8,000 yuan reward for factory affairs disclosure. Members Ye Guolin, Yu Yan, and intern Gao Wenxu, who assisted in the disclosure activities, were each rewarded 300 yuan.
In October, during the General Labor Union’s incentive assessment for non-public enterprise chairs, a speech combined with a PPT presentation was delivered, showcasing the company’s employee culture, health protection measures, and welfare initiatives. The assessment resulted in second place. In the Chengdu Central City Knowledge Competition, employees showed high enthusiasm and strong participation, earning recognition from superiors and laying a foundation for the county’s good ranking. In August, materials were submitted for the selection of outstanding member Yu Yan and outstanding labor union representative Huai Shusheng.
This year, all members paid a total of 2,320 yuan in union fees. The labor union’s finances were strictly managed, with clear accounts and dual-control management of the official seal. All expenditures were requested and reported to the finance department, ensuring that every penny was spent on employees, earning their trust and the company’s confidence.
