BGD Variable Stiffness Bearing Series
Variable stiffness bearings can coordinate the force distribution among piers of the same bridge span to better achieve collaborative seismic (vibration) resistance. They reduce design difficulties and save overall costs. Variable stiffness bearings have the characteristic of collaborative force distribution, allowing each bearing to share external forces to the greatest extent, preventing chain reactions due to individual bearings being damaged first. They can balance the stiffness differences among piers in the same bridge span, avoiding excessive load on "hard piers," especially suitable for mountainous bridges with significantly irregular high and low piers.
Variable stiffness bearings are particularly suitable for bridges with significant differences in high and low piers in mountainous areas, and are also suitable for highway and municipal bridges in areas with seismic fortification intensity of 7 degrees and above.
